摘要: Abstract We performed a cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment (LCA) of bio-based cosmetic cream containing Refined Palm Kernel Oil (RPKO). The objective was to investigate the importance RPKO production within environmental impact cream. assumed baseline scenario with best oil palm agricultural practices in Malaysia, and then tested different parameters, i.e. deforestation, peat soil drainage improved effluent treatment, order check their influences. In scenario, transport main contributing process (largest contribution for 11 out 15 indicators). Contribution packaging also significant 2 15). had low albeit much more critical one alternative scenarios. Deforestation (i.e. transformation occupation) influenced two indicators: Climate Change Land Use. On change indicator, deforestation caused an increase about 9% impacts occupation 16%. Use 3%, increases 938% 41%, respectively. Methane capture from mill treatment conversion electricity represented decrease (from −0.1% to −2.8%). This paper showed that phase could have non-negligible over life-cycle case cultivation, despite its small both mass economic terms.
