摘要: Over the last five decades, total area cultivated with sugarcane in Colombia has increased by 280%. The consolidation of agroindustrial cluster been based on a process modernization that included aerial spraying more than 783,442 kg glyphosate since 2001. resulting increase productivity for sugar mills accompanied what we refer to as “toxic dispossession” ethnic communities Alto Cauca region. This article presents critical examination modern-day activities, particularly those pertaining chemical maturation sugarcane, and provides evidence environmental social damage industry generated rural communities, whose well-being, livelihoods traditional territories have deteriorated rapidly.
