摘要: Abstract : The Hybrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM; (Halliwell et al., 1998, 2000; Bleck, 2001) was developed to address known shortcomings in the vertical coordinate scheme of Miami Isopycnic-Coordinate (MICOM) by Rainer Bleck and colleagues. HYCOM is a primitive equation, general circulation model with coordinates that remain isopycnic open, stratified ocean. However, isopycnal smoothly transition z-coordinates weakly upper-ocean mixed layer, terrain-following sigma shallow water regions, back z-level very water. latter prevents layers from becoming too thin where shallow. user has control over setting up domain, generating forcing fields, ingesting either climatology or output fields other simulations use for boundary interior relaxation. fully parallelized designed be portable among all UNIX-based systems.
