摘要: The authors studied the brains of 471 adults infected with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1): 123 asymptomatic carriers, 127 in an early stage acquired syndrome (AIDS) pulmonary tuberculosis or bacterial infections, and 221 fully developed AIDS opportunistic infections neoplasms. Lymphocyte infiltration leptomeninges perivascular spaces occurred at all stages, but frequency was significantly higher carriers. Microglial nodules appeared stages disease; they were not indicator HIV encephalitis (HIVE). incidence HIVE unrelated to AIDS, suggesting that occurs before Drug abuse, such as cocaine opiates, may enhance replication increase AIDS. Opportunistic lymphoma involved only brain 31.2% persons Conversely, neoplasms organs other than 55.7% In 13.1% organs.
