摘要: Abstract Objective This study compared three methods of assessing malnutrition in cirrhotics and correlated nutritional status with clinical outcome. Methods cross-sectional evaluated by subjective global assessment (SGA), prognostic index (PNI), handgrip strength (HG) outpatients cirrhosis (n = 50) two control groups hypertension 46) functional gastrointestinal disorders 49). Patients were followed for 1 y to verify the incidence major complications, need transplantation, death. Results Among patients cirrhosis, 88% Child-Pugh A only 12% B. these, prevalences 28% SGA, 18.7% PNI, 63% HG (P Conclusions There was a high prevalence cirrhotic outpatients, especially when assessed HG, which superior SGA PNI this study. technique that predicted significant complications undernourished patients.
