Nitrogen fixation in a large shallow lake: rates and initiation conditions

摘要: The fixation of molecular nitrogen (N2fix) by cyanobacteria in situ and PO4-P enrichment experiments was investigated large shallow Lake Vortsjarv 1998–2000. In this lake, N2fix started when TN/TP mass ratio about 20, which is much higher than Redfield 7. rate varied between 0.81 2.61 μgN l−1 d−1 maximum (2.61 d−1) measured 15.08.2000. L. a lag period couple weaks occurred the set-up favourable conditions for as appearance N2-fixing species depletion mineral nitrogen, real itself. However, if favorable after with mesocosms even then no detected lake. also more intensive lake water. our concentrations 100 μgP l−1started to inhibit N2fix.
