摘要: Variability and taxonomic identity of the protected economic interest species Kosteletzkya pentacarpos (L.) Ledeb. (Mal- vaceae). A specimen conserved in Herbarium MA (Royal Botanical Garden Madrid) is designated as lectotype var. boscai Pau (Malvaceae). This variety apparently endemic to Albufera de Valencia, whe- re it was initially collected by Eduardo Bosca 1886. The rescue this from old botanical literature increases recognised variability K. penta- carpos at infraspecific level: albi- florus Sacc. ex Fiori Venice, smilacifolia (Chapm.) S.M. Alexander some sites North America, pentacarpos, living whole distribution area -North Mediterranean Europe Caucasian region coasts-. Key words: Hibiscus, lectotypus, Linnaeus, Malvaceae, nomenclature.
