摘要: An experimental investigation into the measurement of fracture toughness on small precracked bend specimens after general yield is described. Six parameters are compared basis their accuracy and utility in predicting KIc. The are: (1) on-load crack tip opening displacement, COD, (2) lateral (notch root, tip) contraction, NRC, (3) angle bend, (4) stretch zone, (5) J integral, (6) equivalent energy. results show that, from standpoint ease measurement, plane strain COD at initiation, (COD)Ic, most useful parameter for measuring KIc that yield.
