摘要: In situ vitrification is discussed as an emerging technology that currently being tested for the potential in-place stabilization of radioactive, transuranic wastes at Pacific Northwest Laboratory. The advantages to in are listed and include: long-term radioactivity; cost effectiveness; applicability varying soil conditions; minimal occupational exposure waste during processing; and, low energy requirements.
