摘要: Incipient reproductive barriers are a common characteristic of oak species. Disruption these promotes changes in diversity and genetic structure the species involved. Quercus castanea is red with wide geographic distribution Mexico, which presents atypically high morphological variability when it occurs sympatry other species, suggesting that hybridization may explain observed variation. We tested if levels Q. related to number growing sympatry. In total, 14 microsatellite (SSRs) primers (six nSSRs eight cpSSRs) were used 120 individuals (20/site) belonging six populations, where associated varied from zero five. Results showed positive significant relationship between sympatry, regardless marker type or parameter analyzed. Also, we found higher differentiation populations using cpSSRs comparison nSSRs. Our results suggest temperate forests oaks richness co-dominated by promote increase this diversity. From conservation perspective, foundation such as have cascade effects extending community.
