摘要: The present study aims to clarify the confused taxonomy of Z. schaufussi von Frauenfeld, 1862 and Zospeum suarezi Gittenberger, 1980. Revision Iberian micro snails is severely hindered by uncertainties regarding identity oldest species, 1862. In this paper, we its taxonomic status designating a lectotype from original syntype series describing internal external shell morphology. Using SEM-EDX, attempt identify area type locality cave more precisely than "a in Spain". described illustrated Gittenberger (1980) as appears not be conspecific with shell, considered separate gittenbergeri Jochum, Prieto & De Winter, sp. n. Zospeum was various caves NW Spain. Study material reveals that these shells are homogenous holotype imaged here for first time. paratype distant, second cave, praetermissum n. selected schaufussi, also (1980). Since specimen morphologically very similar topotypic suarezi, latter species junior synonym (syn. n.). morphology all taxa using X-ray Micro Computer Tomography (Micro-CT).
