摘要: Groundwater is an essential and vital component of any life support system. It not only the basic need for human existence but also a input all development activities. The present hydro-geochemical study was confined to coastal belt Alappuzha district, which lies in lowland division Kerala. quality its suitability irrigation domestic purpose were examined by various physico-chemical parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, hardness, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, bicarbonate, sulfate, chloride. These used assess groundwater comparing with WHO Indian standards. TDS, sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), permeability index assessment. sample analysis reveals that entirely fit drinking respect EC, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, Cl−. In some collected samples, concentrations these exceed permissible limits ISI Based on TDS SAR almost samples are suitable except few locations, show values beyond limits. Ca–Mg–HCO3 dominant water type area. sequence abundance major cations anions Ca > Na > Mg > K = HCO3 > Cl > SO4. hardness 96 % found purpose.
