摘要: Long-term use of psychotropic medication may increase the risk for epithelial ovarian cancer through increased gonadotropin secretion or direct stimulation adrenergic receptors, effects which affect pathogenesis. An earlier case-control study found that prior antidepressants benzodiazepine tranquilizers was associated with a 2-fold in cancer. However, lacked details on all types medications, length use, and categorization specific action these medications hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. In new conducted eastern Massachusetts (MA) New Hampshire (NH), we identified women newly diagnosed between May 1992 March 1997. We interviewed 563 malignant borderline tumors 523 controls random digit dialing Town Books (residential listings by name, age, precinct). Participants were asked to provide name used 6 months longer, age at first total years use. Psychotropic included amphetamines, sedatives, barbiturates/anticonvulsants, antidepressants, antipsychotics. Self-reported longer statistically significant invasive [odds ratio (OR), 1.6; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.1-2.3]. Relative nonusers, greatest those whose occurred premenopausally more than 2 (OR, 2.9; CI, 1.3-6.6). The association largely confined operate dopaminergic mechanisms 1.3-6.4) gabaergic pathways 1.5; 0.9-2.5) as opposed serotoninergic 1.0; 0.4-2.1). These results are consistent hypothesis induce secretion, turn risk. until other studies confirm our findings determine whether they apply neuroendocrine actions, it is premature advise change clinical practice conclude indeed play role etiology
