摘要: R-plasmids that transfer antibiotic resistance are common in the non-pathogenicEscherichia coli of gastro-intestinal tract human beings and domestic animals, which inturn may enter into sewage. Therefore we have isolated 30Escherichia isolates from hospital sewage Aligarh city. These were tested for their sensitivity against 10 antibiotics. 90% showed ampicillin sulphamethizole. Of total 30E. 86.6% resistant to erythromycin rifampicin but none them was kanamycin streptomycin. Plasmids (mol. wt. 16.5 mega daltons) five differentE. strains harboured only a single plasmid characterized on basis antibiogram. Moreover, transformation experiments also performed confirm character plasmid. We conclude multiple drug among most theE. is borne.
