摘要: Monodeuterotropenyl radical, C7H6D·, is generated by thermal cleavage of liquid x,x′‐dideuterobitropenyl (x,x′‐dideutero‐bi‐2,4,6‐cycloheptatrien‐1‐yl) and investigated means electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. The major goal this work an assessment the effect deuterium substituent on vibronic near degeneracy radical. ESR spectrum C7H6D· appears to correspond hyperfine interaction with six equivalent protons one deuteron. expected inequivalence proton splittings less than linewidth. From a detailed analysis magnitude linewidth, upper limit 25 cal/mole estimated for energy separation between nearly degenerate levels C7H6D·.
