摘要: Traditionally, the healthy urinary bladder has been considered to be sterile. Several teams have used metagenomic (DNA-dependent) and metaculturomic (culture-dependent) methods debunk this longstanding dogma. In fact, resident microbial communities (urobiome) detected in both adult females males. Although field is young, several observations made. For example, urobiome differs between men women, likely due anatomical hormonal differences. Importantly, associated with a variety of lower tract disorders, including overactive post-operative infection, raising possibility that clinicians might one day treat symptoms by modifying instead killing suspected uropathogen. Little known concerning relationship host genetics; so far, only single paper reported such study. However, major efforts gone into understanding genomics itself, process facilitated fact many studies detect identify microbes. narrative review, we will introduce separate sections on female male urobiomes, discuss challenges specific urobiome, describe newly discovered associations symptoms, highlight study attempted relate genetics urobiome. We finish section how surveys whole genome sequencing bacterial isolates are improving our its health disorders.
