摘要: ABSTRACT The osseous elements of the foot and ankle are described illustrated in detail for Hispaniolan solenodon, Solenodon paradoxus Brandt, 1833, one two extant species lipotyphlan family Solenodontidae. Comparisons made with same representatives three remaining families lipotyphlans, soricid Crocidura luna Dollman, 1910, talpid Parascalops breweri (Bachman, 1842), erinaceid Erinaceus europaeus Linnaeus, 1758. muscles attaching to lipotyphlans summarized based on literature. solenodon is generalized but a unique modification regarding entocuneiform: it has an elongate medial spur sizeable facet astragalar head. other studied have entocuneiform, well separated from astragalus by navicular. also remarkable modification; ectal facets calcaneus opposi...
