摘要: Summary 1. Hundreds of experiments have now manipulated species richness (SR) various groups organisms and examined how this aspect biological diversity influences ecosystem functioning. Ecologists recently expanded field to look at whether phylogenetic (PD) among species, often quantified as the sum branch lengths on a molecular phylogeny leading all in community, also predicts ecological function. Some hypothesized that divergence should be superior predictor function than SR because evolutionary relatedness represents degree functional differentiation species. But studies date provided mixed support for hypothesis. 2. Here, we reanalyse data from 16 plant grassland ecosystems impact above-ground biomass production over multiple time points. Using new used these experiments, PD plants impacts average community well stability through time. 3. four complementary analyses, show that, after statistically controlling variation SR, (the branches tree connecting community) is neither related mean nor temporal biomass. These results run counter past claims. However, was
