摘要: In his address to the University of Chicago in 1942, late Dr Ernest Goodpasture emphasized that cells avian embryo or mammalian fetus were significantly more susceptible microbiological infections than those adult1. He showed vaccinia and herpes simplex viruses lead widely disseminated but caused only mild lesions adult. Although was unable explain this greater susceptibility embryonic tissue some infections, he suggested young relatively undifferentiated formed propitious media for viral replication, probably on account their higher metabolic rate absence effective immunological systems.
