摘要: Abstract The polymerization in thin films on smooth tooth surfaces was assessed for four conventional bonding and pit fissure sealants one new acetone-containing sealant. A routine procedure followed up to the stage of bracket placement. were allowed polymerize buccally lingually forty-four premolars, which then carefully extracted analyzed clinically stereomicroscope. For thirty-eight surfaces, a soluble ultraviolet dye (sodium fluorescein) added universal resin, these teeth examined by fluorescence microscopy ground sections. On remaining fifty chemical analysis polymerized sealant made after demineralization 10 percent hydrochloric acid included infrared spectroscopy, refractive index, combined gas chromatography mass spectrometry. results demonstrated that, despite some individual variation, all failed produce protective film cover entire etched enamel surfaces. This mainly due nonpolymerization caused oxygen inhibition flow before setting. analyses indicated large amount unreacted methacrylate groups where had polymerized. In contrast, with less groups. need improved orthodontic purposes discussed.
