摘要: Over the past two decades, Vietnam has exhibited remarkable success in eliminating poverty. In fact, since 1999 had highest percentage point reduction of households living poverty any country Asia. Between 2004 and 2008, period focused on this article, Vietnamese national rate fell from 21 to 12 percent. Although experienced a dramatic overall poverty, levels remain spatially uneven. Provinces with large amounts foreign investments report significantly higher than economically isolated rural provinces. This article focuses both temporal change geographic variability household reduction. Using paneled data, series multilevel logistic regressions are used examine why some more likely escape others, whether household's place residence contributes its likelihood escaping We address questions: (1) controlling for household-level sociodemographic factors, does location which is embedded affect (2) interaction between characteristics provincial-level changes direct investment per capita 2001 2008 probability during time?
