摘要: Abstract Male-derived accessory glands (MAGs) in insects typically transfer a mixture of proteins and other molecules during mating that have profound effect on female physiology reproductive behaviour. In the present study, we sought to identify MAG serious agricultural pest Spodoptera litura as they been extensively studied Drosophila insects. A total 566 distinct across gels virgin mated males, well 91 differentially expressed contrast males S. were detected by 2D gel electrophoresis. Here, successfully identified 20 appeared depleted mass spectrometry, thus predicting from females mating. We analyzed for homology with known functions available Swiss- Prot through Mascot search engine. The categorized into six diverse functional groups: Metabolism, protein folding, antioxidation, olfaction, DNA binding/replication cellular activity/response. Most fall same class organisms, although some appear rapidly evolve. probable roles associated reproduction discussed. Thus, this study establish strong precedent future research potential interfere pest's own mechanisms resulting its failure reproduce successfully.
