A high index suspicion necessary order to differentiate SIBO from other similar presenting disorders such as coeliac disease, lactose intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome. search for predisposing factor thus necessary. These factors anatomical (stenosis, blind loop), functional (intestinal hypomotility, achlorydria). The hydrogen breath test most frequently used diagnostic although lacks standardisation. treatment consists eliminating broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy.
