摘要: Abstract Periodic nanostructures in photonics facilitate a far-reaching control of light propagation and light–matter interaction. This article reviews the current status this subject, including both recent progress well-established results. The primary focus is on basic physical principles potential applications associated with existence Bragg scattering, photonic band structures, engineered effective-medium properties periodic dielectric metallo-dielectric systems. In addition, we discuss advantages limitations various theoretical numerical approaches as well those fabrication techniques that have specifically been developed for field.
