Significance of cone biopsy margins in the management of patients with cervical neoplasia.

摘要: Too many patients in the United States undergo hysterectomy for cervical neoplasia following cone biopsy because too gynecologists choose not to pay attention pathology present at margins of specimen. In view need improve management neoplasia--i.e., reduce number needless hysterectomies--a retrospective study was done verify trend our institution and evaluate utilization determine extent process. Also, methods used procuring sample interpreting results were studied. The included 345 who underwent a biopsy; subsequently, 102 them had hysterectomy.
