The role of SMC proteins in the responses to DNA damage

摘要: The SMC proteins form the cores of three protein complexes in eukaryotes, cohesin, condensin and Smc5-6 complex. Cohesin holds sister chromatids together after DNA replication is involved both repair double-strand breaks by homologous recombination intra-S-phase checkpoint. Condensin assists condensation chromosomes at mitosis also has a role checkpoint control pathways. complex variety damage response pathways as yet unknown mechanisms, but associated with recombination.
