摘要: Abstract Background Understanding the mortality patterns of patients with lymphoma and myeloma, who have undergone autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) might identify improvement opportunities. Patients Methods The present retrospective study included aged ≥ 18 years, had ASCT from 1983 to 2010 at University Nebraska Medical Center. Of 2284 patients, 972 died within first 5 years after ASCT. were divided into 3 cohorts according time transplantation: 1990 (cohort I), 1991 2000 II), 2001 III). Using Cox proportional hazards regression analysis, risk cause-specific was compared across cohorts. Results a total 1215 deaths, (80%) occurred Disease relapse (73.4%), organ failure (7.8%), infection (4.7%), secondary malignancy (4.2%) accounted for most deaths. death ( P = .26), .68), or .15), declined in more recent Conclusion 5-year overall survival undergoing has improved significantly owing decline infectious mortality. Our results highlight that remains common cause death, warranting investigation different strategies reduce incidence improve therapy
