摘要: Population-based endoscopic studies of esophageal eosinophilia and eosinophilic esophagitis are limited in the world. This study was aiming to describe features a representative sample adult Shanghai, China. As part large epidemiological study, 3,600 individuals (aged 18–80 years) were randomly selected They asked undergo endoscopy have at least four biopsies taken from 0.5 cm above Z-line any abnormal areas. Any eosinophil infiltration epithelium defined as eosinophilia. Eosinophilic ≥15 eosinophils/high-power field biopsies. A total 1,030 accepted 1,021 with biopsy results suitable for analysis. Esophageal present 67 subjects (6.6 %). cases (0.4 %). No significant association found between presence reflux esophagitis, Barrett’s esophagus, symptom-defined gastroesophageal disease or H. pylori infection. Most (80.6 %) did not upper gastrointestinal symptoms. nearly 6.6 % general population China; 0.4 % had esophagitis. asymptomatic.
