摘要: Background: Dimeticone 4% lotion is an effective and widely accepted treatment for head louse infestation. However, it a highly mobile fluid that some people find difficult to apply mainly left on the hair 8 hours or overnight. User preference more manageable viscous product can be used with short application time. Findings: This proof of concept study in 41 investigated dimeticone liquid gel, easier than lotion, applied 15 minutes two occasions week apart. We found lice were eliminated from all participants following first product. did not any stage participant during four post assessments particularly, unlike other treatments, no young nymphs days 1 6 prior second treatment, indicating ovicidal as well pediculicidal activity. Conclusions: gel has demonstrated efficacy greater similar products evidence obtained indicates elimination infestation single minute application.
