摘要: The effect of the orthographic structure stimulus field on visual search performance third graders (8-8 years), sixth (1 l-7 years) and adults was investigated in three experiments. In Experiment 1, where predesignated target one word, subjects all ages searched equally fast through fields consisting words, pseudowords, nonwords. contrast, displayed effects when searching for instances a semantic category (Experiment 2) or words 3). Subjects faster nonwords than pseudowords words. use to facilitate did not increase with age, suggesting that children youngest age group were already making maximal intraword redundancy. task popularized by Neisser colleagues (Neisser, 1963; & Beller, 1965; Neisser, Novick, Lazar, 1963) has become major diagnostic tool researchers investigating human information processing. general paradigm involves having subject scan down vertical list items indicate he found target. latency locating been primary dependent variable this research. number targets makeup have important independent variables. recent years, several investigators employed tasks order tap various components reading process. Krueger (1970) could letter lists composed
