摘要: Many studies (in information science) have looked at the growth of science. In this study, we reexamine question To do (a) use current data up to publication year 2012 and (b) analyze across all disciplines also separately for natural sciences medical health sciences. Furthermore, were analyzed with an advanced statistical technique—segmented regression analysis—which can identify specific segments similar rates in history The study is based on two different sets bibliometric data: number publications held as source items Web Science (WoS, Thomson Reuters) per cited references reference year. We rate which science has grown since mid-1600s. our analysis identified three essential phases development science, each led tripling comparison previous phase: from less than 1% middle 18th century, 2 3% period between world wars, 8 9% 2010.
