摘要: Objective Depression is the most commonly reported psychiatric symptom in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). However, more research needed examining impact of depression on functioning MCI patients. The purpose this study was to examine differences a sample community- based, depressed, and non-depressed patients. Methods One hundred five participants were included study. Participants recruited from Project FRONTIER, rural health. Depression assessed via Geriatric Scale (GDS-30), cognition measured using Repeatable Battery for Assessment Neuropsychological Status. Results The results indicated that depressed performed significantly worse than their counterparts several measures. scored lower immediate memory (t = 3.4, p < 0.01) delayed (t = 2.8, indices counterparts. Conclusions The experienced greater deficits counterparts. Depressed exhibited both memory. Thus, identifying treating individuals may improve functioning. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
