摘要: Retrobulbar haemorrhage after facial trauma or surgery is an uncommon but well-documented complication. The assessment and management of this condition variable. We asked 288 maxillofacial surgeons in the UK about signs symptoms, incidence, retrobulbar haemorrhage. also enquired regimen that they used for eye observations, patients who, their opinion, required observation, method communication instructions to nursing staff. A total 185 responded (64%). Each surgeon had seen a mean 1.3 cases haemorrhage, which most, n=190 (91%) were treated by surgery. There 96 different observations regimens documented. was general consensus 82 (44%) respondents proforma recording observations. On basis study we recommend standard have designed injury advice sheet be given who attend accident emergency department are discharged home followed up at later date.
