摘要: Changes in plasma renin activity (PRA) and sodium balance were studied hypertensive rabbits dogs with one renal artery constricted the other kidney intact (two-kidney hypertension); aldosterone secretion was measured also chronic rabbits. Both PRA normal some but elevated others. Sodium studies revealed that severely spontaneous negative balance. Unlike rabbit, never increased dog normal. Infusion of [Sar1, Ala8]angiotensin II (P-113) decreased arterial pressure those not PRA; P-113 did decrease unless depletion superimposed. In conscious two-kidney dog, acute stenosis both within minutes, blocked rise associated increase PRA. Therefore, although apparent species differences between rabbit occur, present data indicate neither nor excess salt retention is essential to maintenance hypertension these two species; however, a role for angiotensin phase indicated.
