Collision statistics of clusters: from Poisson model to Poisson mixtures

摘要: Clusters traverse a gas and collide with particles. The particles are absorbed, the clusters become hosts. If size-selected, number of guests will be Poisson distributed. We review this by showcasing four laboratory procedures that all rely on validity model. effects statistical distribution clusters' sizes in beam discussed. derive average collision rates. Additionally, we present mixture models also involve standard deviations. statistics for common size distributions hosts some generalizations thereof. can applied to large noble traversing doping gas. While outlining how fit generalized statistics, still find even these often insufficient.
