摘要: Numerous experimental and naturalistic studies have shown the relevant role of ruminative styles in onset, duration severity depressive episodes. Recent research has increasingly focused on precursors these responses. Neuroticism been found to be closely related styles, but nature this relationship is unknown. Across three studies, we explored emotional overproduction, conceptualized as tendency simultaneously experience an elevated number negative emotions feelings during sad Study 1 showed that overproduction independently strongly associated with styles. Furthermore, was mediate between neuroticism 2 replicated findings a large community sample even after controlling for mood, personality, other emotion-related variables. In 3, conducted laboratory study increase internal external validity our findings. Implications coping stress literature, clinical treatment are suggested.
