摘要: Background  The aim of this study was to explore the use actigraphy investigate sleep problems in a convenience sample clients Dutch intellectual disability (ID) care providers. Based on data obtained large multi-centre healthy ageing people with ID, research questions were: ‘To what degree are actigraphic measurements successful population?’ and ‘What is influence different sensitivity settings Actiwatch Sleep Analysis software distribution variables group?’ Methods  Data were collected cross-sectional descriptive design. We included 563 participants, aged 50 years or older, borderline profound ID. Sleep-wake measured continuously during 14 days nights using AW7. A complete measurement at least 7 nights, including one weekend day, considered successful. Objective analysed AW7 software. Results  In 200 participants (35.5%), obtained. Unsuccessful caused primarily by wearing device incomplete information bed time get up time. Of 382 who started Actiwatch, 354 (92.3%) wore it for days. Application resulted clear differences all parameters. Conclusions  Further needed into validity objective parameters, as screening epidemiological older It needs be investigated which setting gives most valid results specific group, whereas reference parameters cut-off values
