摘要: Rapid progress in standard of living and advances information communication technology (ICT) has generated an enormous amount end life electrical electronic equipment which eventually become e-waste. Although it represents a small percentage total solid waste, e-waste is the fastest growing waste stream world, with most them flowing from developed to developing countries for purpose recovery recycling activities. However, poor facilities produce toxic residues were landfilled or openly incinerated severe negative effects on human environmental health. Basel Convention other legislations introduced by nations limit global trans-boundary shipment highly e-waste, illicit trade difficult trace regulate due multiple loopholes. Consequently, only fraction finds its way licensed material (MRFs) purposes, while rest recovered informal sector countries. One latest reduction strategies extended producer responsibility. issue quite new Malaysia, country also grappling crisis one main destinations trade.
