摘要: Abstract Located between modern-day South Africa and Tanzania, both of which have well-known extensive Stone Age records, Mozambique's sequence remains largely unknown in the broader context African Pleistocene prehistory. Such lack data occurs despite key geographical location country, southern at southeastern tip Great Rift Valley. As such, Mozambique is an area interest to evaluate origins dispersion Homo sapiens within Africa, particularly relation Middle contexts associated early modern human ecology cognition. This paper focuses on preliminary survey results from Niassa District, near Lake (also known as Malawi) northern Mozambique. The include discovery more than 80 new surface lithic concentration localities, well two sites, open air site Ncuala rock shelter Chicaza. For Chicaza we provide a series radiocarbon dates for Iron Late occupations based testing carried out site.
