摘要: Objective This study compared the clinical and radiographic effectiveness of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) Portland cement (PC) as pulp dressing agents in carious primary teeth. Methodology Thirty mandibular molars children aged 5-9 years old were randomly assigned to MTA or PC groups, treated by a conventional pulpotomy technique. The teeth restored with resin modified glass ionomer cement. Clinical successes failures recorded at 6, 12, 18 24-month follow-up. Results All pulpotomised clinically radiographically successful all follow-up appointments. Six out 15 group five 14 exfoliated throughout period. No statistically significant difference regarding dentine bridge formation was found between both groups As far canal obliteration is concerned, detected 6-month (p <0.05), since beginning mineralised material deposition could be 100% 57.14% MTA, respectively. Conclusions may serve an effective less expensive substitute molar pulpotomies. Further studies longer assessments are needed.
