摘要: Abstract We reviewed the literature on practice of reservation in Australia over past few decades. found that reserves have generally been dedicated for expedient or opportunistic reasons and they tend to protect environments with least potential commercial land uses. Ad hoc has two main disadvantages: most need strict are not effectively protected; natural diversity is represented inefficiently terms features per unit reserve area. demonstrate second disadvantage quantitative comparisons alternative scenarios Western Division New South Wales. These show a continuation ad acquisition will continue increase area needed represent all so reduce likelihood achieving representative system.
