摘要: The use of an intramedullary alignment rod in the distal part femur is important step performing total knee-replacement arthroplasty. On basis our observation a sudden decrease oxygen saturation some patients after insertion rod, prospective study was done circulatory and blood-gas changes that were associated with thirty-five patients. We examined effects eight-millimeter solid without venting; fluted or inserted through 12.7-millimeter drill-hole, but other venting. A statistically significant reduction saturation, arterial tension (PaO2), end-tidal carbon-dioxide (PETCO2) occurred both rods hold vented unvented femoral canals, association increase (p less than 0.01) pressure. Bone-marrow contents fat retrieved from samples blood right atrium, indicating embolization marrow had during rod. small systemic pressure heart rate also occurred. These completely eliminated by drill-hole as entry site concluded causes contents, which decreases tension, pressure, rate.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
