摘要: We have studied the phenotype of three mouse virulent strains Toxoplasma gondii (RH, Martin and ENT), monitoring cellular factors which may relate to virulence. There was variation between these in separate criteria: invasion, growth tachyzoite‐bradyzoite interconversion. The ENT strain exhibited consistently higher invasion rates, a shorter doubling time lower frequency bradyzoite production than or RH strains. In addition rate, there were also differences morphology parasites, with exhibiting highly synchronous division giving rise characteristic rosettes. produced bradyzoites at and, culture, parasites often seen tight clusters, reminiscent early tissue cysts. These phenotypic variations amongst mouse-virulent parasite imply underlying genetic within group. © 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
