摘要: Attendance at high-quality early childhood education and care services can have positive impacts on children’s learning and development, particularly for disadvantaged children. Aboriginal children in the Northern Territory are among most Australia stand to benefit short- long-term from attending culturally safe education care. Few studies, however, evaluated how support or reported challenges of conducting such evaluations. This article reports an evaluation Arrwekele Akaltye-Irretyeke Apmere Centre Alice Springs, Australia, which employed a culturally-adapted Abecedarian approach. The drew interviews, classroom observations, document review, language developmental assessments report findings about quality, cultural safety, acceptability community development. show that despite facing during its establishment, by end were receiving service. service was overwhelmingly valued interviewees families there indications outcomes Insights design similar evaluations discussed, as need more rigorous consistent data collection techniques, larger sample, inclusion wider range perspectives.
