摘要: The neural mechanisms of sensory responses recorded from the scalp or cortical surface remain controversial. Evoked vs. induced response components (i.e., changes in mean variance) are associated with bottom-up top-down processing, but trial-by-trial variability can confound this interpretation. Phase reset ongoing oscillations has also been postulated to contribute responses. In article, we present evidence that under passive listening conditions dominated by variable evoked components. We measured mean, variance, and phase complex time-frequency coefficients epidurally acoustic stimuli rats. During stimulus, tended co-occur. After there was a small, low-frequency offset modest, prolonged desynchronization alpha band. Simulations showed account for most variance observed during stimulus. This state dependent, smallest periods greatest arousal. Our data suggest auditory reflect inputs network. These analyses caution should be exercised when interpreting terms processing.
