摘要: 210Pb levels in lake sediments and ombrotrophic peats have been measured by gamma assay, using low background well-type planar Germanium detectors. The associated 226Ra concentrations emissions from 214Pb at 352 keV. A comparison of 137Cs 32 keV 662 keV, for samples radioactive equilibrium, indicates that self-absorption sediment does appear to be significant lower energy levels. Attenuation factors correct this determined. Results a number sites are presented. analysis peat has facilitated ashing material 450°C prior measurement.
