摘要: Abstract Background: Cleaning and disinfection procedures play an essential role in the prevention of infection transmission gastrointestinal endoscopy. In spite published detailed guidelines, several variants weak points still exist. Methods: Cleaning-disinfection were carried out according to "Working Party, Sydney 1990." A microbiologic surveillance protocol tested contamination endoscopes automatic washing machines. To assess improve efficacy disinfection, we adopted a quality assurance program. Results: During 2-year follow-up, outside surfaces gastroscopes contaminated 60.5% channels 41.3%; areas colonoscopes 62.3% 40.3%. Isolated bacteria gram-negative organisms, particularly Pseudomonas species, gram-positive mostly Staphylococcus species. The water reservoirs machines frequently by aeruginosa . alcohol rinsing after standard significantly reduced bacterial contamination. Conclusions: pointed main that could be improved adoption corrective interventions. Quality is feasible method cleaning-disinfection, its wide application would care.
