摘要: Abstract Flotation is the most effective separation solution used in sulphide ore beneficiation. In flotation, interaction between valuable minerals and gangues are complex. Serpentine, a common magnesium-bearing silicate mineral ores, can largely depress flotation of by adhering at their surfaces (i.e. slime-coating). contrast, quartz mitigate depressing serpentine. This work studied effect two ores pyroxene olivine) on pyrite which was as model mineral. It found that, similar to quartz, olivine could significantly improve recovery depressed Zeta potential measurements turbidity experiments showed that serpentine aggregate with aqueous via electrostatic interaction. Furthermore, DLVO calculation revealed preferentially interacted rather than pyrite, resulting increased stripping from surface.
