摘要: The effect of lesions the catecholamine nerve terminals in medial prefrontal cortex rat on neurotransmitter mechanisms within basal ganglia has been investigated. Bilateral 6-hydroxydopamine were stereotaxically placed dopamine-rich (DA) area th frontal cortex. Animals pretreated with desmethylimipramine to block uptake neurotoxin into noradrenergic (NA) and make it more selective for DA terminals. lesion produced a reduction both NA from cortex, result related falls tyrosine hydroxylase activity at this site. Lesioned animals showed enhanced turnover utilisation striatal limbic regions. There was no change subcortical activity. In addition there significant other putative neurotransmitters sites, including 5-hydroxytryptamine GABA. Decreased neurotransmitter-synthesizing enzyme glutamate decarboxylase choline acetyltransferase also recorded certain regions ganglia. results suggest that cortical systems may serve regulate various
