摘要: All the manufacturers of stand-off CWA detectors communicate on “same” characteristics. And one can find these parameters in comparison table published between all different products [1]. These characteristics are for example maximum detection range, number detectable compounds, weight, price, etc… good to compare them, but they omit very important point: reaction time case an unexpected incoming chemical threat, surveillance application. To answer this question, we imagine a new parameter: Field Surface Scanning Rate (FSSR). This value is classical parameter astronomical survey, use by astronomers performance telescopes, compute quantity sky (in square degrees) analyzed per unit system. In paper will figure-of-merit, FSSR, some commercially off shelf detector. The FTIR system and gas imaging term FSSR be presented.
